APM PFQ – Project Fundamentals Qualification
The APM PFQ course is a SCQF Level 6 qualification from the Association for Project Management, the UK’s chartered body for the project profession. It covers 10 learning outcomes aligned to the APM Body of Knowledge 7th edition, giving you a structured understanding of the full project life cycle – from concept and definition through to deployment, transition, and close.
The PFQ syllabus covers planning, scheduling, communication, teamwork, resource management, risk management, quality management, and roles and responsibilities within projects. Assessment is a 60-question multiple-choice exam lasting one hour, with a pass mark of 60%. There are no prerequisites.
By the end of the course, you will:
- Understand the key elements of the APM project lifecycle
- Be confident using recognised project management terminology
- Recognise the roles, responsibilities and success factors within projects
- Be fully prepared to pass the APM PFQ certification exam
The APM PFQ provides a valuable foundation for progressing to higher-level project management qualifications, such as APM PMQ, or for contributing more effectively to project teams in your current role.
