Business Benefit

The ability for a business to be able to work with multiple and inter-related projects is often needed. The advanced course supports this need.

Who Should Attend

This course is suitable if you require working with many projects together and or have responsibilities to oversee a number of inter-related projects.

Learning Outcomes

Baselining: You will acquire the skills to effectively use baselines in Microsoft Project to establish a reference point for project performance measurement. This involves capturing the initial project plan, which can be used to track and compare progress against the original plan as the project unfolds. By using baselines, you can better control project scope, schedule, and costs.
Resource Pools: You’ll learn how to work with resource pools, which enable the efficient management and allocation of shared resources across multiple projects. This capability is especially valuable for organisations with resource constraints, as it allows for optimised resource utilisation and allocation.
Working with Multiple Projects: Participants will become proficient in working with multiple projects simultaneously within Microsoft Project. This includes skills such as combining multiple projects into a single view, coordinating dependencies between projects, and managing complex project portfolios.
Export to Excel: You will be able to seamlessly export project data, schedules, and reports to Microsoft Excel for further analysis and reporting. This skill is particularly useful for generating custom reports, sharing project information with stakeholders, and performing in-depth data analysis.

With project Plan 5, delegates will have access to the ‘Project Online desktop client’ we recommend using the desktop client for the training as this gives the users maximum functionality of the software and hence get the most from the training. So will need to make sure the delegates have desktop client installed for the session.

The purpose of your training is learning new skills and/or changing behaviour. We can help you measure this!

Post-course, to evaluate how successfully the attendees are doing this, delegates can attend a Workplace Implementation session during the skills transfer period. This additional session lasts for 2.5 hours.

During the Workplace Implementation session the individuals will either on a 1-2-1 basis or as a group discuss the challenges and successes they have experienced during their skills transfer period.
This will include what they are doing differently as a direct result of the training and how this has positively impacted the organisation.
This is an excellent way to encourage the learning, support the skills transfer into the workplace and act as a measure to evaluate the training.

We compile this information into a report so that you have evidence of your return on investment.
